Four personnel have died in their sleep at bond street station during the landmark construction project known as Crossrail, managed by Costain / Skanska. It is rumoured dust monitors have been high.
Construction dust is a known issue particularly during refurbishment where Asbestos is a known killer. Silicosis is yet another aggressive ailment caused mainly by the cutting of cementitious products but generally emanates from material including ground.
Reports have mentioned that at least one worker involved was working 5 levels below ground prior to death.
